20th Century Izakaya Takaya in Hirao, Fukuoka City is filled from floor to ceiling with stuff! Stuff that'll take you back to the 20th Century particularly if you're a fan on Japanese boxing, pro-wrestling and general pop culture from last century. You'll here frequent cries of "natsukashii" from customers of a "certain age". Let that not distract you though from the main attractions which are the fantastic food, drink and hospitality provided by the Master Taka-san and his wife Mayumi. Raku izakaya in Yakuin, Fukuoka City is one of the best kept secrets in Fukuoka. It is what the Japanese describe as an 'ana-ba' which basically translates as a great little place that few people know about. Raku, which is only 5-6 minutes walk from Yakuin station, is one of those places you want to keep to yourself and at the same time you're dying to tell people about!
